Hovis Family

I have known Abby, for ...let's just say many many moons. She has kept my hair looking good for about that long too. Abby has been super supportive of my becoming a photographer journey. Most of my first clients were friends of hers actually! A few months back I made a bucket list of all the things I would love to photograph one day. It just so happens a few of them involved a pregnant chick! Lucky me Abby said I could take all those photos of her! I got to take some pregnancy announcement photos a few months ago shortly after she found out about her new little bundle...

Yesterday I went over to Abby's beautiful home and did some photos for her Christmas card. Here are a few sneak peeks of those, I don't wanna ruin the final card reveal!

Have I mentioned how fierce Abby's daughter is?

While I was there it was time to hit another bucket list item, maternity photos! Abby is due around the end of February, so now was the perfect time to take a few. Although, if it snows before she pops we are doing some more in the snow!

Have I mentioned Abby is having a BOY! I totally called it from the start.

Lastly we wanted to do a few photos of three -soon to be four- in front of their beautiful newly built home. Especially since Abby just got through doing such a good job decorating it for Christmas!

Abby and her family are always some of my favorites to photograph. She's always up for anything! This time she said we could do whatever I wanted. Which was a tad stressful, but I love pregnant Abby, she's very go with the flow! I think we got some really good shots this time! I can definitely tell a difference from my photography skills now vs a few months ago.

Stay tuned to Angel Kincaid Photography on Facebook and this blog later this week when I will be sharing some photos I did the same day of Abby's niece Callie!

The Lampkin Family

Yesterday I did a sweet family photo shoot at Rankin Lake Park in Gastonia,NC. It is beautiful there! A nice big lake with bridges out over the water, walking trails, paddle boats, a playground, and more. It's the second time I've done a shoot here, the first time was this summer with Miss Laci, If you head on over to my facebook page you will see her photo as my profile picture.

This time my session was with the Lampkin family. I have met the Lampkin's in pieces, first was Chris, Jaime, and little Peyton, at a dreaded company picnic..It's not that bad actually. But you know how those things can be...awkward conversations just waiting to happen. Chris and my husband have worked together for the past couple years. Next, at the beginning of this month I met Megan, JD, and Mason. Megan won my free photo shoot contest! This was one of my favorite photos from their session.
Megan and I have become fast friends and texting buddies, I love her! She's so fun :)

Yesterday I met the rest of the family, Kathie and Larry (mom and dad). I have been planning this session with Kathie for weeks. I probably annoyed her to death with all my messages. But the planning is my favorite part. I wanted to make sure everything was fun, and perfect! It was almost perfect, Larry wanted me to go out in that water and take a photo back towards them. In all my planning, I forgot my waders! Darn!

Here are the first round of photos from our fun afternoon yesterday, I had to work quickly, Florida State was coming on! Go red team!

Not very Christmas-y, but seriously, this kids eyes! LOVE! (I did no editing to this photo)
I am secretly wanting to plan a whole elaborate session just for her, she was beautiful and fun, and not afraid to tell me what she wanted to take a photo of next!

The ducks came by for a little bit and I lost these two for a while. So I decided to make the best of this sweet moment and snap some photos!

The eyes! Right?!

The fun props came out at the end!

Hi, I'm Angel..

I read this blog post the other day that said you should put a photo of yourself on your blog. Not only so your clients will know what you look like when you show up, so there is no embarrassing confusion. But, also because people can't really get to know you until they see your face. Problem, I take photos, I'm never IN photos. It's never been something I've liked or am comfortable with. Ask some of my friends, most of the photos they have seen me in, I was wearing sunglasses. Just this once, just for you, here I am....

Ha! Yes, part of my face is covered. But this is me. What can you learn about me from this photo you ask? Well, I chew gum when I'm nervous, I like t-shirts, and my camera. My hair is usually a mess, because I have 3 kids and rarely have time for myself. My eyes look surprised cause if I had shown you what they really looked like they would have looked TIRED. Once again, 3 kids, and I have a good case of insomnia these days.

I also love...
My Husband
My Kids
Snow
A good pair of boots
TV Shows  New Girl, and Glee
Movies Pitch Perfect and Days of Thunder
Music Ed Sheeran, a Great Big World,
and I am a closet 1D fan (just their new stuff, I'm no teeny bopper!)

I get nervous around people I've never met, but give me a minute and I'll be fine.
I like to read but I rarely have the time.
I love Christmas lights.
My three kids, all boys, 15,10, and 6...yawn.
My husband..married for 15 years, started dating when we were 14 and 15

I hate (that's kinda mean) I strongly dislike...
football
hot weather
pumpkin pie
bullies (ask my kid about that list I have...)
socks

Last but not least, one of the things, I love the most, and the reason you're probably here. I love photography, Everything about it, the planning, the packing of the equipment, finding beautiful locations, capturing the perfect moments, the editing, all of it. It's my favorite thing to do.
It's slowly but surely bringing my happy back.

It's a girl!

My cousin Jaci is having a baby! I am so excited for her! I can't wait to see her and Caleb hold and love on their new baby girl. They are gonna be the best parents. You can tell already. Jaci was just glowing yesterday when I arrived at the party. She was beyond excited to find out the sex of their baby. The party was such a beautiful example of family. Everyone that loves them family AND friends were there to share in the excitement of the day! Here are some memories from the awesome and beautifully decorated gender reveal party!

Inside this cake was pink or blue to reveal the gender of the baby!

Jaci and Caleb- The mama and daddy to be!

The big moment...

"IT'S PINK, IT'S PINK!!!!!"- Jaci

Caleb's VERY excited mama!

The Mama-to be, with the Grandmas-to be!
